I wanted to take him out to dinner, but he preferred dinner at home. So I cooked.

Mostly, it went quite well. The noodle dish I rarely cook turned out better than I expected (last time I cooked it was 1999, I think). He barbecued some chicken that turned out pretty yummy. The rice I was planning to pair it with was a disaster. Good thing I had good ol' plain white rice as back-up. Instead of cake, we had tiramisu. We had a little cake-n-coffee little party last Sunday with my family. I bought a Cookies 'n' Cream cake from Cake Haven, a chocolate fudge cake layered with vanilla buttercream and crushed Oreo cookies. That's why we didn't have cake.

I still wish I did more. I wanted balloons and much fanfare. Oh well...
