Cooking Experiment

My husband and I had a cooking experiment tonight. I found a recipe for Balsamic-Glazed Filet Mignon and Peppers, which made me want to try it out really badly. So off we went to Stew Leonard's for the ingredients.

What's so special about this experiment?
1) I've never cooked filet mignons ever.
2) I've never used leeks and thyme in my cooking either.
3) Is one filet with glaze and bell peppers really just 238 calories?

My husband prepped the bell peppers and thyme; I prepared the garlic, leek and filet mignons. Then the veggies were sautéed with a teaspoon of olive oil on medium-high heat and set aside. After that, I browned the steaks in a teaspoon of olive oil.

In the first two pictures, the steaks look as if they're drowning in peppers. My bad!
After I took a bite, I suddenly remembered to take a picture. Here it is!

Since we're trying to increase our intake of veggies, we even had mixed greens, steamed corn and a glass of white wine each - Wind Ridge from DiGrazia Vineyards.

Here's to a well-enjoyed weekend. Cheers!
