The countdown begins

By next week, it will be a completely new year. It never fails to amaze me how the concept of time is so mutable. It ought to be just another day, yet the days leading up to the new year is always so full of hope, so full of expectations. Not saying it's bad. When you think about it, it's just one of those days, in the same way last week came and went, so will this coming week.

Time flies fast because really, what option is there? For time to stand still? Life goes on and on. People move on. Everything and everyone's in a constant state of flux. Yeah, constant and flux in one phrase. The only thing we can really rely on is change.

But we're resilient. That's one of our strengths. No matter how much adversity we face, we spring back. Usually better than ever. We weather the bad days. Sometimes though, we fail to enjoy the good days. We've all been so steeped with negativity that we don't even notice when things go right. For the most part, things DO go right.

I'm certain that I'll be contemplating on how 2006 was for me. Maybe I'll blog about it, just not tonight.
