Biz card woes

I scanned a couple of documents in her cubicle today. Lying around was a print-out of who's getting business cards and who isn't. Guess what? Of the three admin folks, I'M the only one who's not getting it. ME! The go-to girl does not even merit a business card. I mean, for cryin' out loud, how much will it cost to include me in that list?

Ok, I will not make a big deal of this.

BUT...I feel bad about it.

It feels unjust somehow, yet at the same time, I realize that I really have no need for it. Most of my contacts are through e-mails and phone. It's not as if I actually go out there and meet with potential clients. I sit in my office and they come a-callin'.

However, I also realize that it was a list she made. *sighs* I know, I know, it's ONLY a business card so what's the big deal? But still...my goodness, I work longer hours than she does! Talk about unfair...

Similarly, I don't feel it's fair to lump in a technical writer with the admin group. Sure that's how your company works. But still, technical writers aren't administrative folks, and neither are marketing people, which, hey, you also are.
