The myth about business trips

I was just on the phone with one of the partners here at work. After discussing the stuff I need to do for him, we got around to discussing business trips. He started saying it's not as fun as it seems. The wait time at the airport, the actual flight time - there's hardly any time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the place you went to. He even said that the hotel rooms are all starting to look the same to him.

I can't really blame him. Nor was I particularly surprised. I used to think business folks who went on business trips were the coolest. For a time, I wanted to be one. Then I realized that there are too many hassles with air travel nowadays - endless lines at the airport, the security checks. To think that I'm only a recreational traveler, not a business traveler. These guys I work with deal with those things more often than I do.

It's a good thing I'm already aware of that. Some things only look cool, but in reality, not so much.
