Workplace mysteries

If my work is so easy to do, how come nobody can do it when I'm not around, despite the urgency?

Why do they wait for me to return before meeting a deadline? By the time I'm back, it has gone from a simple deadline to an urgent one.

Why do some people feel the need to put down others to make themselves feel better?

Why does bad behavior come from unexpected places?

Why are people in the workplace competing in terms of "busy"ness?

Why do other people assume their emergencies should be everyone else's emergencies too?

I wonder what these people gain from such horrible work ethics?

Mysteries, indeed.
