Thankfully 34

Introductory flight courtesy of Arrow Aviation. My husband knew flying a plane is in my to-do list. Good thing he pays attention to such things because one of his birthday gifts for me was an introductory flight. I wasn't quite sure if I'd be allowed to fly the plane, seeing as I know next to nothing about flying a plane. I was all set to take pictures aboard the plane only. My husband and our friend James also went on board the plane because Matt (the pilot) said it was ok. Matt was great - he made me do left turns, right turns, U-turns, etc. I LOVE Matt! Being in control of an aircraft was fantastic. Of course, I did have problems with the horizon (yeah, too short to see much beyond the dashboard, but strangely, I managed quite well). I was also worried that my passengers would get dizzy at some point, but Matt complimented me on my steady handling of the plane...woo hoo! Was the half-hour flight enough? NO! Would I do it again? Hell yeah! I wonder if I should become a pilot...

Lunch at Olive Garden. Afterwards, we met up with my sisters Lani and Lynn for lunch at Olive Garden. They gave me gifts and even bought an ice cream cake from Cold Stone. Perhaps the cake was a surprise, but I saw when the cake passed hands. I just kept mum about it. Anyway, there was a bit of a glitch with the actual presenting of the cake. Darn OG folks didn't even give a candle for me to wish on! Oh well, a yummy cake is not something to back away from. Yum!

"Jersey Boys" on Broadway. We hung around our place until it was time to leave for the 8pm show of "Jersey Boys". I was excited to watch the show. After all, I already love the show's soundtrack, what more once I've seen the show? I love it, love it, LOVE IT. At the start of the show though, the dude in front of me was so tall that I had to go this way and that way just to see what was going on, but he switched places with a shorter woman, so from then on, it was all uphill. I got the autographs and even had pictures taken with the Jersey Boys - Christian Hoff (I love him!), J. Robert Spencer (I'd love him if I didn't already love Christian Hoff), Michael Longoria (sounded quite like the real Frankie Valli) and Sebastian Arcelus. I spent a fair amount of time stagedooring, even telling them it was my birthday. Of course, they greeted me and all that. I love them! We were supposed to eat at Won Dee Siam, but they were closed already by the time I finished stagedooring. So off to Chinatown we went...where else but Hop Kee?

Yes, on the day of my birthday, I had a lotta love to give. First, it was for the pilot Matt, then it was for the Jersey Boys. It was also great having our good ol' friend James around. As my sister Lani said in her old blog post "Good", "Being with old friends is like coming home." I hope that time, distance and the craziness of day-to-day living not get in the way of a good friendship.

As usual, spending time with my sisters is fun. It doesn't matter if we're talking nonsense sometimes, just laughing our heads off is worth more than anything.

Of course, all of these fun stuff wouldn't be possible without none other than hunny bunny. The introductory flight alone would've been enough to send me swooning, but add "Jersey Boys" to the mix and I'm far gone. He knows how much I enjoyed my birthday!

I read before that "the more you count your blessings, the more blessings will come your way." I counted, I'm counting and I'm thankfully blessed.

Thank you for all the good things that are happening in my life now.
