Two days of endless eating

July 31, 2008 - went for half-hour massage, a thank you treat from my sister Lani. Relaxing! We also headed to Il Bacio - an ice cream place recommended by the masseuse. I had pineapple sundae, while my two sisters had some creamy, sticky ice cream of seemingly utter sweetness. Later on, we went out for dinner at the Peruvian restaurant in our town, Empire of the Incas. It was her treat again for the seventh anniversary of hubby and yours truly. We ordered jalea, arroz chaufa con pollo and lomo saltado. Incredibly filling, but no complaints! Ended up with leftovers, which is never a bad thing. Too bad they had no chicha morada at the time. To my sistah friend: you are more than welcome.

August 1, 2008 - Talk about a food-filled day! Hubby and I had brunch at Elmer's Diner. We ordered 2 plain pancakes (one for him, one for me) and Mexican omelette (we split it again) that had jalapeno peppers! What a very spicy omelette! Yum!

Then I brought hubby to Il Bacio. Yeah, I was there the day before with my sisters, but how can I not let him in on the new discovery? Of course we HAD to go. This time, I ordered cherry-flavored Italian ice; he had grape. Mine tasted like cough syrup, but his grape-flavored one was great.

After that, we headed to White Silo Farm and Winery in Sherman, CT for wine tasting. First time in a winery with wines made from fruits like rhubarb, blackberry, raspberry and black currant. They said they're organic farmers as well. We also ordered the Terrace Special - two glasses of wine (sangria, in our case), crackers, cheese and preserves. A pretty good relaxing day! Yum! I wish days can be spent that way, sitting outside, simply relaxing. No rushing to and fro. I took some pictures that I will post in Flickr soon enough. They even gave 2 complimentary wine glasses!

Dinner was at Southwest Cafe in Ridgefield, CT. He had Hatch Stew and I had Shrimps in Chipotle Sauce. Yum! First time to try white corn posole.

When we got home, we watched "Persepolis". Some anniversaries, we'd watch our wedding video. But this year, I didn't feel like watching it and we weren't quite sure what romantic movie to watch. So "Persepolis" it was.

And now we come to:

August 2, 2008 - I woke up late with a thunderstorm raging outside. I thought I overslept. The sky was so dark, I thought it was evening again. Turns out I didn't and it wasn't. With all the eating done lately, my tummy's acting up today. :D So I'm trying to relax and keep myself hydrated. Whew!
