How senseless is this?

I read this article today: "Wal-Mart worker dies after shoppers knock him down".

Not only is this death senseless, but the last thing that should happen right now is to point fingers. Perhaps to prevent lawsuits, Wal-Mart should simply compensate the family after what happened. The employee was in their property, working for them when tragedy struck. The employee became the victim of a shopping frenzy. What madness is this?

I remember one Black Friday when my husband and I went to a early morning Black Friday sale. Just to see what the fuss was all about. We were outside braving the cold at 4:45 a.m., I think. When doors opened, people were pushing everyone like crazy. A lady hit my back with her cart and didn't even say boo to me, which prompted me to yell at her. Yeah, so much for holiday spirit. I'm 5'0" so I could've easily toppled over. After that experience, we never tried it again.

So now reading the article today made me shake my head. What madness consumes people during Black Friday? What about the people who stomped around inside Wal-Mart? Did they not even realize they were stepping on a human?

If peace and good will is hard to wish for, then at least let common sense prevail.

I saw this on TV at work yesterday. So sad and senseless. A human life for toys, electronics and other gadgets. We don't hear of starving third worlders stampeding when they get food, water and other supplies.

Greed will do that to some people--turn them into monsters (demons) without care
