Philippine desserts

Three days in 2009 and I've already made three Philippine desserts - palitaw, inday-inday and ginataang bilo-bilo.

I know ginataang bilo-bilo already, but the other two are experiments that turned out ok. I'm planning to make suman tomorrow as well. I've made suman only once, so another try is in order. I have some frozen shredded young coconut and also frozen cassava in the freezer, but I don't know what to do with them. It's unbelievable the amount of sugar used in Philippine desserts. Just too much sweetness.

I've decided to learn more Philippine desserts because I already know most of the Filipino dishes that I like. We usually buy Philippine desserts. Just one of the things I want to learn in 2009.
