Aiming for perfection

My husband and I photographed a wedding last Saturday from 6am to 6pm. Whew! It was EXHAUSTING, to say the least. But it was fun, especially since the couple was very easy and fun to work with.

I have to admit though, ever since getting home last Saturday after the wedding, I was tempted to sneak a peek, but managed to avoid it altogether. After working on an event, I usually give myself a day or two before I go and check my work (in this case, our work). You can only imagine the crazy thoughts going through my mind the whole day yesterday... "did we get good shots?" "Did we get enough shots?" "Were there any squinters, yawners and such?" "Do they look good?"

Why do I do this to myself?

Today, I finally looked over the photos we got from the wedding. And I heaved a sigh of relief. All the needless worrying. But better that way, I think, than to think everything's alright and find out otherwise. So we got some pretty fun shots and good shots. Of course, there were a bit of little hits and misses, but overall, not bad! Once again, WHEW!

Now I want to get married again! How crazy is that?

That is one heck of a loooong dayAnd this is one of the reasons I take so many photos…I may get several really good ones in a row and maybe not.

Yes Paige, it was truly a long day. By 4pm, I was sleepy! Good thing the couple was very relaxed, so they didn't mind when we were already slowing down with the picture-taking.
