How it's been lately

I was supposed to be good and consistent with blogging. But as I always say, life has a way of getting in the way of things. Which is alright since it means I'm living.

A brief recap on what's been going on since my last post.

Hubby and I celebrated our 8th year anniversary this month. We celebrated our anniversary recessionista style - hanging out and lounging about in our deck with a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers. For dinner, he made pot roast. A fun and inexpensive way to celebrate. We bought only the cheese and the meat for the pot roast. I haven't been eating meat in a while, so that day was an exception. It was a treat enjoying the outdoors from our little deck. The woodchuck was nowhere to be found though. It didn't want to celebrate with us.

We got to talking about what we want to do with our life together. Move to California? Go back to the Philippines while the US economy's bad, and then come back? Have a kid now? We laid down the cards, but came to no conclusion yet. It's a work in progress.

At midnight after a day of celebrating, we found out his aunt died of pancreatic cancer in her sleep. Bummer. However, she was actually given until the previous week to stick around. So the fact that she made it one more week was, in itself, amazing. She had all her affairs sorted out. She even chose the outfit she wanted to wear, the photos to be shown during a video montage, etc. All in all, not a bad deal.

Hubby left early this morning to California. He's due back early morning Wednesday. I was left behind because airfares cost an arm, a leg and your first-born. Thank goodness we don't have a first-born yet.

So that's how it's been.
