Good intentions gone awry again

I know the last thing I should be doing is venting since it's useless doing that. Nothing gets accomplished. But I just wanted to share my experience with collecting stuff for the Ondoy victims. However, I'm mostly venting in my mother tongue, so sorry if there's no translation.

The other day when I was walking Zack, a neighbor who's putting up their place for rent/sale saw me and asked for help with packing. Siempre I saw the opportunity na baka may ma-collect ako na goods for relief operations. Plus, it seemed like a neighborly thing to do. Haaaaay naku!

Ni hindi man lang nagbigay ng inumin or snacks while I was helping out for free, tapos aba, may attitude pa! So ako lang yung nag-i-impake. Parang utusan. They're old, but they're not THAT old na di nila kayang mag-impake. So I stopped and looked at the woman expectantly. Nakahalata so binaba ang telepono. When it was late already, ang sabi sa akin, "go have dinner with your husband, then come back here with him. We need him for about an hour and a half or two hours."

Told me not to go back. And I didn't. Yun nga lang, naiwanan ko yung hoodie ko sa kanila kasi I was wearing one when I came over dahil medyo malamig na. Siempre nung nagsimula na mag-pack, mainit na. I left it on their couch. Idiot. What's worse, ni hindi pa binibigay sa akin yung mga old clothes na pang-donate daw! Na-style-an tuloy ako. Di ko naisip na siempre, they're going to deal with the clothes last to make sure that I'll stay to the end.

Natulungan ko sila, nagawa ko na more than enough pero wala akong nakuhang contribution that they promised. Sa totoo lang, I was doing it para ipadala sa Pilipinas. Buti na lang may mga ibang tao who e-mailed me na nagdo-donate ng old clothes, blankets and towels without strings attached. All we need to do eh i-pick up. At least it proves na mas marami pa rin tao with their hearts in the right places. Exception lang ang dalawang ito.

You've have a good heart Cez. You've great intentions, yun nga lang that couple doesn't deserve it. Tsk. Me makakapal pa rin na tao at insensitive na katulad nila. I hope they change before it's too late to.
