afraid to feel what they feel

It seems more people are afraid to let themselves feel what they feel. Especially when the feelings are negative. Because when they allow themselves to feel their feelings, they end up judging themselves. As if allowing themselves to feel angry, hurt, disappointed, furious, etc. will make them negative persons. And if by any chance you allow yourself to feel those things, other people will judge you as a negative person as well.

The way I see it, better to face my feelings just to be done with it. Stop living in denial. There's nothing wrong with having negative emotions. Just make sure that you don't end up wallowing in it. Sweeping these things under the rug will just bite you in the backside. Maybe not now, but it'll definitely do so in the future.
