December 31, 2013

It's been a good 2013

I was in the Philippines for more than a month.

I saw Singapore, Malaysia, Vigan and Bataan.

I traveled on my own in Malaysia without being my usual super organized, super efficient self. And lived to tell the tale.

I saw the "Girl with a Pearl Earring".

I attended Obama's Second Inauguration 2013.

I went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Even tasted butterbeer.

I watched Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.

I saw the Supermoon.

I tried tawilis for the first time. Then ate it a second time.

I ate at Ma Mon Luk for the first time.

I embarked on bento adventures.

The three of us went for our first ever picture with Santa.

The Twitter hold-out that I am surrendered.

I joined Instagram.

The sisterhood was complete for a month.

I bought my second tiara.

I quit THAT job.

I had my neck/shoulder injury, then shingles, followed by the beginnings of pneumonia. Yes, quitting from that job was the right decision.

I started watching "Supernatural" and fell in love with the boys. I also started watching "Scandal" (but didn't fall in love with Fitz).

I learned how to make brazo de mercedes from scratch.

Yolanda/Haiyan proved there are still many good people.

With the new year comes new chances and new beginnings. Make each day an opportunity to be and to do better.

And as a reminder...

Happy new year to all of you!

It's just too tiring to the arms, Jon. No wonder it's called brazo.
